AxisStrata

AxisStrata is a professional, browser-based stratigraphic recording and Harris Matrix command center designed for archaeologists and field researchers. It streamlines the documentation of excavation contexts — including deposits, cuts, fills, masonry, and surfaces — by providing an intuitive interface to record, organize, and visualize stratigraphic relationships. Users can create detailed context records with type, description, dates, and interrelationships, then instantly generate an interactive Harris Matrix that simplifies the analysis of stratigraphic sequences. The app includes a dedicated photo log for attaching images to contexts, robust filtering and sorting options, and one-click JSON export for seamless integration with other software. All data is stored locally, ensuring privacy and offline accessibility. Whether in the field or in the lab, AxisStrata empowers archaeologists to maintain accurate, digital excavation records and uncover site histories with clarity and efficiency.
