Base64 File Transcoder

Base64 File Transcoder is a fast, client-side utility for encoding and decoding files using the Base64 scheme. It's an essential tool for developers who need to embed binary data into text-based formats like HTML, CSS, or JSON. How it works step-by-step: Choose a Mode: The user selects one of two main functions via tabs: File to Base64 (Encode): For converting a file into a Base64 string. Base64 to File (Decode): For converting a Base64 string back into a downloadable file. To Encode a File: The user either drags and drops any file onto the designated area or clicks to open a standard file selection dialog. The application instantly reads the file and displays the resulting Base64 data URI (e.g., data:image/png;base64,...) in the output text area. The user can then copy the entire string to their clipboard with a single click. To Decode a String: The user pastes a complete Base64 string into the input text area. They can optionally provide a desired filename, including its extension (e.g., my-document.pdf). Upon clicking "Decode and Download," the application validates the string. If no filename is provided, it attempts to infer the correct file extension from the MIME type in the data URI. A success message is shown, and a download link is generated, allowing the user to save the reconstructed file to their device.
