CacheLogic

CacheLogic is an interactive, client-side caching simulator designed for developers, students, and system architects to visualize and understand the impact of caching strategies. It allows users to simulate web traffic requests to a set of defined assets and observe caching performance in real-time. How it works step-by-step: Define Assets: On the left sidebar, the user can define a list of web assets (e.g., CSS files, images, API endpoints). For each asset, they can configure its Name, Size (in KB), and TTL (Time-To-Live in seconds), which determines how long it stays in the cache. Manage Asset List: Users can add new assets, edit the properties of existing ones directly in the table, or delete them. All changes are automatically saved in the browser's local storage, so the configuration persists between sessions. Configure Simulation: In the main panel, the user sets the parameters for the simulation: Requests: The total number of random requests to be simulated. Speed: A slider to control the speed of the simulation, from slow (for easy observation) to fast. Run Simulation: By clicking "Run Simulation", the tool starts generating random requests for the defined assets. Real-time Monitoring: The application provides instant feedback: Statistics: Three main cards display the Cache-Hit Ratio, the total amount of Data served from Cache, and the total Data served from Origin.
