SunPath Simulator
SunPath Simulator is a 3D visualization tool for architects, designers, photographers, and urban planners to analyze daylighting and shadow casting. It provides an interactive 3D scene to simulate the sun's position and its effect on a building at any location or time of year. How it works, step-by-step: Set Your Parameters: Use the intuitive sliders in the sidebar to configure the simulation: Latitude: Set the geographic location, from the North Pole (90°) to the South Pole (-90°). Day of Year: Choose any day from 1 to 365 to see how the sun's path changes with the seasons. Time of Day: Drag the slider to watch the sun move across the sky from sunrise to sunset. Analyze in 3D: The main viewport displays a 3D scene with a building model. The sun's position and the shadow it casts on the ground update in real-time as you adjust the controls. The length and angle of the shadow change accurately based on the sun's altitude and azimuth. Explore the Scene: Click and drag anywhere in the 3D viewport to rotate the entire scene, allowing you to view the building and its shadow from any perspective. Save Your Work: Use the "Save" and "Load" buttons to store your current simulation settings in your browser and retrieve them later.
Install SunPath Simulator at its install page.
